I have had real good luck with slides. In the original reviews I've read, the
claims are that the Scanwit does a much better job on negatives and rivals the
expensive Nikon scanner. Check out
http://www.photoscientia.co.uk/Usingmira.htm - this page has some great
information to set your black point for slides and how to improved scan
quality. Like any scanner, you need to optimize the scan settings for best
results.

Subject: [OM] Acer Scanwit -Slide Scan Quality
Hi Jim
How is the quality when scanning slides? What resolution settings give
acceptable prints in 3R or 4R size?
Regards
Titoy

scanners connected to the SCSI card supplied with the Scanwit. This little
scanner does a really nice job! I'm quite happy with mine - but beware of
those stupid plastic fingers that hold slides in place. They will
eventually break off, but that doesn't hurt anything and the slide holder
works just fine without them!

ukp). I was a little apprehensive after reading great reviews but some
problems with SCSI connections. I already have an hp flatbed with a SCSI
card but hp had warned that it was not

second SCSI card into the PC. So I plugged the Acer into the existing SCSI
chain (despite more apprehension about having to use an adaptor cable due to
