There are innumerable reasons why the meter of an OM-1 might not
operate, few of which are repairable without disassembly and repair.
The only "easy" repair might be a broken battery contact screw (plastic
-- replace with nylon), or perhaps poor grounding of the meter (IF it's
the one particular body version that suffers that problem). By and
large, though, if it's not the battery, count on sending it to a repair
specialist.
