The true cost of titanium is the machining. It is tough, tough, tough; which
means expensive in time and tools. Lenses are fully machined inside and out
with far more precision than bodies need, so it's just a cost/gain issue.
I'd buy the cheaper brass and aluminum lenses every time.-Marcus

You are right about that Dirk. Titanium is plentiful, the processing is
expensive. A new method has been developed that should reduce the cost
by a factor of three. This would put titanium at a little more expensive
than stainless steel. Probably see prices come down in the next few
years.
