Naw, it just helps. The best way to learn math isn't by using a calculator
(auto camera).
The calculator comes later. Heck, if a calculator told me that 2+2=5, I'd
believe it. Never did get that stuff down too well.
But, I think I learned the principles of photography better than math.
Helps a little that I learned them on a Rolleiflex, a manual meter and a
Graflex flash. Combination must have weighed 25 pounds! Now I can use a
point and shoot! (:>)
If you pay enough attention and LEARN, it won't make a lot of difference
what you use as long as you know what's going on.
The OM-10 is good for that 'cause it will show you the shutter speed and you
manually set the aperture.
