Sometimes you have to have faith. One time I sold a lens to someone off this
list in a remote corner of Europe. I didn't ask for payment first and the lens
had some problems that needed to be fixed. I offered to split the repair
costs, which was agreed. I waited for the payment for 6 weeks and was angrily
trying to think up how to find this guy after several unanswered email's when
lo-and-behold, an international MO arrived. The young gentelemen had been off
on military duty for 4 weeks and had neglected to tell me.
I said thanks; but I don't sell goods-first anymore to anyone I don't know.

Ahem, well, I can't resist givin' testimony. I once won a Tamron 80-200/2.8
thru eBay from Taiwan advertised as "LN". It arrived with some kinda film on an
internal element and very blurry to look thru. The seller agreed to pay the
cost of a cleaning. I turned it in to my local repair shop who decided it
needed it to go to Tamron. Some 3 months later it finally returned looking
truly like new. But in all these long months I could never raise a reply from
the seller and assumed he just decided to blow me off. One day, very much
later, I received a letter form Taiwan with the cost of the repair included in
cash. And I have lived happily ever after.
