: maybe they still need to have some of there own cameras to
: attach to the ends of their expensive endoscopes and microscopes ! When
: they have an adapter for the E30 maybe they wont need to make OM's :(.
Olympus never really 'needed' the OM System for microphotography because they
always had dedicated microphotographic cameras like the PM-6/PM-6-8 and
C-35/C-35A/C-35-DA2/C-35-AD4 that were used together with microphotographic
exposure bodies (shutters). Modern microphotographic cameras are digital, like
the DP50 (5.8 million pixels) and DP11 (2.38 million pixels).

Other microphotographic solutions Olympus currently offers include the Camedia
3030, the OM-4Ti, the SC35 (a modified OM-101) and the PM20/PM30.
Modern endoscopes are all connected to video systems.
