Subject: life span of OM's
I re-read my post from a few days ago regarding my opinion on the life span
of OM's.... and I realized how rude I came across. Sorry about that, I
felt bad after reading my intonations.... So, what I meant, in a clearer
fashion:
I find myself buying OM bodies, of which I have too many currently, because
I feel they won't be around forever. But, generally when I find an OM
body, it is in great shape... very slight signs of use after 10 - 20
years... So, there is a lot of older SLR equipment that hasn't, and isn't
being used. Not necessarily on this list, but a lot of people have stopped
using SLR's. In my opinion, it will all be available for a long, long time.
I travel a fair ammount (Nepal, Peru, India, New Zealand, around the U.S.)
in the last 3 years, and when travelling, using my cameras quite often,
they wear a lot in a month. So, the garage sale camera that looks great
probably hasn't had much film in 15 years...... and they'll still be
around in 15 more years.
I think, anyway.
James.
