Hi all,
I'm back on the list after some weeks being busy with everything else (work,
buying OM equipment, taking pictures).
Sorry to hear about the quake. I hope all list member, their families and
friends are well and safe. To me, living i Northern Europe, earthquakes are
something strange; I have never experienced a phenomenon like this.
It it a coincidence that people used Olympus cameras in Olympia? Or does the
city name lead to autosuggestion when people go and buy cameras? Once there was
a german typewriter manufacturer named OLYMPIA. Do residents in Olympia also
prefer OLYMPIA-typewriters? (Or have they in the past - in these days
mechanical typewriters may be on the recess due to the lack of email
capabilities...)
A more OM-related question: I've bought a Bounce grip 2 for my OM2 (the one
baptized with the sweat of Jon spencer, if you remember). It works well, but I
am curious abut the extra power supply from the batteries in the grip. What
happens if i use NiMH- or NiCd rechargeables in the flash together with
non-rechargeables in the grip? Do the different voltages/capacities mean
anything? In which way does the flash make use of the extra batteries? The
power flow must be different from one type of cell to another. Can I find a
documentation on this -quite specific - topic?
Regards
Bernd
