Not true, this is covered in your user agreement as "fee avoidance"
something eBay is oddly VERY concerned about:

eBay will get greedy (they already are) and then someone really will have a
chance to jump in with cheaper listing and fees and a system that doesn't
breakdown as often as eBay has lately.
As it stands-if they don't mess with the way eBay works much now, it will
reign king.
If it starts messing around and wants more and more like Amazon has, they
will suffer.
I owned/own small amount of stock in these companies and see the results
daily.
