Another vote for the 300/4.5. How are your stalking skills? Can you remain
still for long periods of time? Put out some seed/feed to attract them
closer than 50 yards? My sister and brother-in-law have bird feeders all
over their backyard. They have a constant parade of birds from robins in
spring to hummingbirds (in the summer) to the local residents (barn swallows,
crows, blue jays, etc.) as well as the occasional rare species, and a
resident squirrel or two. Doesn't take long to get a photo op with that much
feed out there. I'm sure my bro-in-law will have great fun with the OM-2S
when he gets it.
