Alot of camera stores "specialize" in a particular brand and, therefore,
don't know (or care) 'bout "off brands." They may take so-called "off
brands" in trade for new, "right" equipment, and then just dump it to get
something (anything?) out of it.
My favorite used-camera store, for instance, is big on Pentax equipment.
Ask them about anything P*nt*x, and they'll go on and on. (That's why Cori
loves going there... she's a P*nt*x lover, herself... sigh!) Ask them
about Olympus, and they'll run out of information in a matter of seconds.
In fact, they're now calling *me* when a customer has an Olympus question.
Btw, their Olympus inventory is now limited to a couple of way-overpriced
OM bodies, a few Stylus and XA cameras, the usual truckload of 50/1.8
lenses, and some third-party lenses. All the "good stuff" is at *my*
house! :-)))
Regards,
Chris
