Hi Mark,
Well, it sure is a 35-80/2.8 and yes, it's in excellent+ condition, almost
mint- actually.
I'm glad to hear this deal worked out fully for you!!! :)))
A truly amazing find, with which I'd like to congratulate you once more!
There is however one small 5mm long hairline scratch near the top edge of
the element. I can't see it when looking through the rear of the lens, so
I'm sure spending $300+ to replace the element isn't justified.
Don't worry at all about this! My 100/2 has three tiny cleaning marks
(barely visible), which is why I still have the lens (but that's a long
story). I've never seen any image quality loss because of it, so for me such
marks are no problem at all.
Enjoy the lens! I know you will, as it's one of the finests in the Zuiko
stable...
The rear element appears fine to me, I wasn't able to find any marks on it.
Didn't the description mentioned some "internal dust" (or something like
that)? Was there any?
As unbelievable as this deal may have sounded, I can now assure you that
it's real.
I can understand that the store owners made an "undervaluation" of this
item. A thing which has me wondering though, is how it's possible that the
original owner sold this lens so cheaply to the camera store?!?
Either way: their loss, your gain! :)
eBay never ceases to amaze me! Now where's that $200 350/2.8? :-)
Hey, hey, don't get greedy now...;)
Enjoy the indulgement!
Cheers,
Olafo
