Sort of, I think. I don't know if I would equate anything you might do with a
scanner to push processing a slide film (pushing takes place in the
development phase, not in printing), but any scanner software will give you
the option of locating black and white points and altering the gamma of your
scan to make it lighter. The latest versions of VueScan have a very useful
and simple "image brightness" feature which can significantly raise the
overall gamma of the scan. There is a price to pay, as always, in that while
an underexposed slide can be improved and made reasonably acceptable, there
may be more noise in dark areas or a flatter rendition of middle values,
almost like a loss of saturation. In short, these features should be used
sparingly and lightly. There is no substitution for working with accurately
exposed slides in the first place.
