[OM] Re: F280 question

I have a newly acquired F280 and am confused.  The manual states that, when the 
flash is set in Super FP mode 
and (with a 4T set on auto) the indicated shutter speed is below 60, the 
shutter will not fire.  Mine fires, but no 
flash is emitted.  Which is correct? oh knowledgeable masses out in zuikoland.
