NT was originally nicknamed "Not There" durint the period before it was finally
introduced, way after Bill Gates' originally forecast introduction date; at the
time O/S2 from IBM was still a very viable operating system that provided pretty
much everything that NT was meant to have. Promising nonexistent software at an
impossibly early date was a typical Gates trick to put people off buying
competitive software that already existed....

I've heard several nicknames for NT but "Not There" is a new one. A friend
of my son was one of the primary authors of NT. When they finished, his
personal bonus was $250,000. At least for him, it was "There." /jnm
