A few people have been talking about the 28-48/4, wondering about the
quality...... I owned one for a short while, and enjoyed it... But, I
compared it to 3 primes I had: 24/2, 35/2 and 50/3.5 at similar apertures in
the same setting.
My tests weren't too scientific... I looked at the slides using the 50/3.5
as a loupe, chose the "preferred" shots in a blind test, and:
I don't own the 28-48 anymore...... Not that the results were too bad....
but the prime lens shots seemed better, and I'm just not a zoom user.
But, that's my opinion..... I wish I hadn't traded it and a big Bogen
tripod for a 100/2.8.... But I needed, and used the 100/2.8 everyday for 3
1/2 months in India.....
James.
