I'm pretty confident it's not - before the advance jammed up in the
closed position, it used to jam in the "ready to go" position, and not
spring back enthusiastically. My gut reaction is to suspect a dislodged
ball bearing or broken/unattached return spring somewhere.
Thanks for the detailed instructions. I'd guessed most of it (but it's
nice to have confirmation) - it was the cap on the advance lever that
foxed me - didn't want to go prying it off in case that wasn't what one
is supposed to do.
