UNFAIR! UNFAIR! You KNEW I would drool all over the keyboard and you didn't
warn me! I actually felt my heartbeat pick up!
And- yes, I did miss your message where you stated you had been involved in
auctions that ended early.
The ONLY points I was making- WITHOUT calling you a crook, or dishonest, or
whatever- was that it seemed(to me) you were moving way too fast and not
giving people time to digest the possible buy of such a big-ticket item from
someone they really don't know, over the internet. The second point came
about after your attempt to prove you were a good guy by saying you were
posting the lens on eBay as a way of showing photos of it and you would end
the auction for a private sale. I only stated my OPINION that I felt it was
morally wrong to start an auction and then cancel it to sell the item
elsewhere. (Unless there are no bids) I know people stop auctions all the
time for various reasons, I just said I disliked YOUR reason. I never
referred to you in a way that would insult you, I feel. I only said handling
it your way would not make me automatically feel better about you, but would
raise more questions. (< paraphrased) I hope you can see what I was trying to
say and understand I'm not paranoid. It's when others add their 2c to the
mix, and twist what was said in the original post then others down the line
assume something was said in a way that it wasn't.
And I don't give speeders the benefit of the doubt! I give them summonses!
And I've already heard the excuse that "I just hadda go, that's why I kept
speeding!" It won't work! What MIGHT work is- "I just gotta get to John's
and see that Zuiko 350/2.8 before someone else buys it!"

and gasp-"it is here, it is the 350 2.8." This is what they wanted to see.
George, my point is. If I put this lens in your hands you will see it was
NOT just another minor piece in the line. And if you were like 950f the
people on this list I assume, I bet I would detect some drooooooooooooooling
at this point (no drooling from me EVER hit the lens-promise)!
Seems you would try to find out more about me or bid on it even using
escrow
if really interested..
If this was the lens you wanted - and you know that they don't come around
very often (I may be new to the list but I have been all around Olympus gear
for almost 25 years) I would be hearing from you.
If you are going to turn your nose up on me and miss out on chance to have
this lens I think that you either aren't interested or overly paranoid.
With cheapy airfares I doubt anyone in the lower 48 can't fly here for more
than a few hundred dollars tops (within a few weeks lets say) if they are
really serious about the goods. I would welcome and understand this.
I would meet them at the airport or whatever to personally show the lens or
take a couple of days and allow some shooting (prospective buyers in warmer
climates - maybe Hawaii etc... maybe I can bring the lens to you.....)
Again George, maybe you missed my letter before about being involved in an
auction or two when it ended while I was bidding. I understand people may
have a legitimate reason to stop an auction-food, rent, surgery, etc...
eBay
will not launch an investigation to find out that their cut went into a
seller's coffin bill-looks bad.
I even give speeders weaving along crazily on the road the benefit of the
doubt, when you have to go you have to GO.......
: )
