Yes, I was at a church so I just said darnit. I'm really trying to clean up my vocabulary, honest. It was only part of the film I shot that day, so it wasn't a complete tragedy. I noticed my bag hanging open while we were sitting outside planning our next move. I checked my gear, because I knew exactly who had been in my bag, but never thought to look for all my film. I realized what had been lost somewhere over the Atlantic on the way home. One of the rolls he stole had a picture of a sign on the front door of the church that said "Beware of pick-pockets" in about ten languages. It was a relatively inexpensive lesson for me.

That experience helped me fend off the Gypsies later in the week.

I'll take the pick pockets and Gypsies any day over an armed robber with a knife or gun.

Hello, Jim . . .

Did you say "darnit"? I've got some lenses I'd rather have lifted than
prized travel pics. No need to delete your expletives here :>)

Seriously, if you ever have just exposed film stolen, it's worth at
least a cursory look around the place. This type of booty is quickly
discarded by the thief, most likely in a rubbish bin or just on the
ground. A college friend recovered all his film this way at the train
station in Nice, France.
