I find myself using my 21/3.5 a great deal. I keep thinking that perhaps
it's a bit too wide, and perhaps the effects can be a bit too powerful, but
when I use longer lenses I find that I just can't fit the whole subject
into the frame.
See, for example:
http://homepage.dtn.ntl.com/vanda/alasdair/images/Venice/Boat1.jpg
which was taken with the 21, and which I would regard as an accurate
rendition of the scene that I saw. (The effects of longer lenses can be
obtained by cropping, and I'm not sure that the result is better if you do
this.)
Some of the other shots in
http://homepage.dtn.ntl.com/vanda/alasdair/images/Venice/index.html
were also taken with the 21, and I think they work reasonably well.
