Acer, I've clipped and rotated the pertinent parts of the steps you're talking about and there's distortion in both of the steps, about 1/2 0n my estimation. This is quite normal for any lens. Your monitor probably distorts more thant the lens does. Gary Reese's test of this lens also revealed barrel distortion. I think something else is at work here.
