I've put green, self-adhesive felt on my tripods and camera handles. It's
not as bouncy as a rubber pad, and when it wears off I put on a new piece.
BTW, I can't stand quick-release plates. I like OM's and Leicas for their
ergonomic feel and don't want some big, clunky weight digging into my hand.
I do use light, wooden handles sometimes (a W. Eugene Smith idea).
