Regarding battery costs, I buy my batteries from a teachers' puchasing co-op
here in Denmark, and I pay/paid 7 dkk per PX625 (mercury) battery; that is about
80 cents (US), or 60 pence (UK), including 25ales tax. Unfortunately only
PX625A (alkaline) batteries are now available (same price)! V76PX (SR44 silver)
cost double, 14 dkk ($1.60 US). A CR123 lithium, for an iS3000/iS3 costs 27dkk
($3.20).
Normal photo shops here charge about twice as much; shows how much profit the
shops make on batteries!
