John:
Here in Spain, Varta has its SR44 battery listed as "best" for an
OM2s (you can also find this at their website, www.varta.com). I have
not been able to found a 357 reference in the Varta catalogue. As I
understand a SR44 is a Silver (oxide?) battery with 1.55 volts, here
are the specs:
Varta Type Designation V13GS
Voltage (V) 1.55
Elektrochemical System Primary Silver
Typical Capacity (mAh) 180
Type No. 4176
Could it be that SR44 is just European standard denomination of a
357? Should I look for some other battery?
PS: Apparently here in Spain one can still get 1.35 Mercury ones,
despite environmental unfriendliness. Varta also lists them as *best*
for OM1s.
