I'd like to remind Nicola that since it will "work" in the "OFF" position,
the usual warnings about being sure not to leave anything touching the
shutter release while the camera is stored in your bag apply, or the
batteries will run down quickly.

I presume this is your OM-10.
This is a feature in case you accidentally leave the camera off and attempt
to make a photograph. The risk in operating in the OFF position is not
knowing whether you have an acceptable shutter speed: too slow or not fast
enough (overexposure condition).
