The C3040 has a 38-104/f1.8-f2.6 lens, compared to the
32-96/f2.8 lens of the C3030 (those focal lengths are
the 35mm 'equivalents').
The c3040 also has, GET THIS, 8 point multispot
metering as an option. This could be very valuable in
a digital camera, given the limited dynamic range of a
CCD compared to film. How useful depends of course on
how narrow the spot is, and how the results are
displayed, which I don't know.
