It is my understanding that upon joining the Union, Texas was permitted to
divide into up to 5 seperate states. Texas kept all it's Federal lands as
State property when it was admitted, which is why we have no BLM land, only
national parks/forests. Texas already seceded from the Union during the
Civil War, and expect is not 'allowed' to do it again.
