Okay 40 mm fellows - I went back to the store where I saw a Zuiko 40 mm
for sale
for a really great price - it was gone. There was a 135 mm Vivitar
f2.8 for 20 dollars
so I got that one. I started a roll of Kodak Gold 400 and began taking
notes in my
exposure book. Then I got the idea of getting the aluminum ladder out
of the garage.
That fearless male Anna's humming bird was buzz bombing me and fly
catching at
the same time ! Well I got up two steps on the ladder and was eye to
eye with that bird.
I managed to get some shots looking down on the hummingbird while it was
drinking
from the feeder.
Couple of questions -- does anyone consider a ladder an essential piece
of photo equipment ?
2. The image looking backwards through the lens out the view finder
seemed brighter than
with even the 55mm f1.2 - why ?
3. The normal TTL view finder image is so bright and the little
center spot never darkens ? why ?
4. This is the first I've ever looked through a 135 mm lens but my
initial impression is favorable.
Also I checked Gary Reese's page and could not find any tests of it.
Oh yeah, and that 40mm shot of the guy in the mirror in Ireland was
awesome !
