HI all, not sure my point was well stated.
I think a 50mm lens is a must have because of speed and quality and the
teaching tool it is to us about moving our feet to get a great shot instead
of turning one's wrist with a zoom.
Grizzly bears and a respectful distance to nature's kind critters is what the
big telephotos are for.
Tokina does make some good lenses and their 300mm f2.8 definately is a ton
cheaper than the Zuiko 350mm f2.8.
That is why when I conclude my own personal unscientific testing of my Zuiko
350mm f2.8 mint -($3200), Tamron 300mm f2.8 ex ($650), Tamron 400mm f4ex +
($1400) and Canon FD 400mm f2.8 ex -($2000), I will be sure to put the
cost/performance ratio to work and end up with 2 of them or 1.
I have seen what the Tamron zooms do-the 28-200 is nifty but the 28-300 is
alot of extra money for images above 200mm that become less than great.
Hope everone is staying warm : )
