Dear All,
Thanks for your interesting posts in answer to my question. It's
fascinating to learn how you came to own your OMs - and also how you've
built up your systems since then. It seems the majority of us
deliberately selected OM for its unique qualities and quite a few
confessed to "falling in love" with the camera. This List has clearly
stimulated peoples' interest (self included) and has been a major
factor in the (benign?) malady that has been aptly dubbed "Zuikoholism"
by those who know best.
BTW, I stand corrected on one point (thanks, Susan): it seems that OM
has indeed enjoyed the status of the most popular system in some parts
of the world, albeit rather a long time ago. I remember, though, when I
first bought an OM-10 in about 1981, I was living in Sydney and most
serious photogs seemed to prefer Pentax; I don't remember Olympus ever
having been the most popular camera down under.
Season's greetings to you all and may your mail-boxes never be empty!
Regards,
=====
Ray
