The majority of Kodak Retinas had Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar or Xenon lenses,
other than those with Rodenstock or the wartime Ektar lenses, and I think it
was Ed Romney who said that the non-convertible S-K ones of the Retina IIc
were among the very best of lenses for the 35mm format.
I recently pasted a long description in German of an eBay Retina into
Babelfish, and in the translation were included the strange words: "cutter
cross after." Going back to the German text I saw that it was a translation
of Schneider-Kreuznach!
