You're right Barry. The normal glidepath for a Jaguar is 3 deg.
However, that would be at about 160 knots with a rate of descent of
about 800 feet per minute. At 450 knots (the speed this chap should
have been at in the photo) the rate of descent is much higher -
probably about 3,000 fpm - at 5 deg dive.

In case anyone is interested it is Target 3 on a headingof about 110 deg true.Neat shot Chris, Am I right in assuming that 5deg is only slightly steeper than a final approach with the Jaguar. The hud really works well in the shot. I coould almost picture the pilot making some adjustments as if he was on a long final.
