Other than removing the excess UV blue, and maybe degrading the image a
miniscule amount, the amount you will save (and relief you'll feel) if
the camera drops lens first only ONE (only microscopically more than
"0", and slightly less than "2") time - scratching, or cracking that
front element.....makes it worth it.
