Albert, Welcome to the list,
Your`question, ...well,.... When the prices are close, I`d say go for the 2n.
Then the 2n is a better value for the monney, and it is more convinient for
gernal usage. Reasons are:
- The OM 2 (almost) includes the OM1 when set to manual.
- More comfortable in auto-mode.
- Batterys easyer to find.
- TTL-flash control.
But there are good reasons, besides the price, why Olympus still built the
OM1(n), while
the 2 was on the marked. A lot depends on what you want the camera to use for.
And what your personal preferences are. Reasons for the OM1 are:
-readyness for use of a mecanical camera.
-simplicity of operation.
-mirror advance lever.
-less risk when you buy without warranty. There are less posiblitys
for hidden faults which can`t be found out when you`re doing a fast prebuy
check of the camera.
-Sutter works without battery, without battery the OM2(n) is just a
nice piece of metal and electronics
But the most importend factor for priceworthyness and usability is that the
body is in
good condition (Function).
