As I really enjoy handling and using different photography equipment, I thought I'd share a quick photo bit... I recently found an old Nikon F series lens (Nippon Kogaku), 55mm/1.2 in a Pawn Shop for $40..... So, I bought a user Nikkormat Ft off E-bay for cheap........ The camera is nice to hold, heavy, incredibly sturdy. But just so much more difficult and non-sensical in comparison to the OM series. Funny: the Nikon with the 55/1.2 is tougher to focus than my OM-1n with 50/3.5.......... I find the Zuiko 50/3.5 images really just *crack* into focus. (More so than even the 50/1.8 Olympus.) Why would that be? I always thought faster lenses were easier to focus.... KEH had a 50/1.2 Zuiko listed today. I tried to buy it, but it had sold. (That is after I received an EX. condition 50/1.8 Zuiko that had a dented filter ring!) (It's since been sent back.) I also took 20 Christmas portraits of 1st graders this afternoon (as I am an elementary school teacher) with an OM-1n and 100/2.8...... (The kids make their own picture frames, and I send the framed photos home for Christmas presents.) The parents really like the gift, and I really enjoy taking the pictures and the 100/2.8. Makes me wonder why I lust after an 85/2.... Get more from the Web.
