The OM-1 through 2N bottom cover uses a stamping method to create the MD
port. The metal is real thin, not enough to thread. The threaded portion
of the 4T bottom is a second threaded plate which is epoxied (I think) to
the inside of the cover. On brass 4s it might have been spot soldered, I
don't recall.
The threaded plate is not available separately. Oh yeah, I'll order it from
Japan. NOT
Still waiting for parts for a 180mm f2, ordered a year ago.................
