In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 92 octane gas (Mohawk Super Premium Ethanol
Blend) goes for $0.799/litre. Since there are 3.785 litres in an American
gallon, that's $3.03 CDN/U.S. gallon, or (at an interbank exchange rate of 1
US$:1.55 CDN$) about $1.95 U.S/U.S. gallon. That's about 19 0gher than Long
Island. Edmonton's cheaper than many other places in Canada (after all,
Alberta's basically a layer of wheat floating on a sea of crude oil), so adjust
your concepts accordingly. The U.S. *still* has some of the cheapest gasoline
on the planet...
