Hi,
many of the scanner programs have a catalogue program with them
(e.g.UMax has PrestoPagemanager). CorelDraw and Corel photopaint usually ship
with a catalogue program along with a whole lot of conversion filters for
converting from one graphics format to another. Hijak graphics pro has a
good cataloguer and about 20-30 conversion filters for many graphics formats
including eps, dwg, hpgl etc. The older versions were often sold heavily
discounted years after the new version and included a simplified clone of
Corel draw. I got my copy for about $50.
The Umax website used to have (?) an upgrade copy of PrestoPagemanager
for it's old sheetfed color scanner that anybody could download. This was
the complete program and was useable even if you did not have their scanner
or old software and you certainly don't need the scanner to use the catalogue
and photopaint programs. It even include online documentation and a simple
OCR program. This "upgrade" was in an obscure corner of their website so it
may take some searching to find.
Regards,
Tim Hughes
