Is a practice to buy a used OM4 and send it for 'repair' to correct the
notorious battery leaking circuit ?
You can find good working OM-4s that don't need any "repairs." I certainly
wouldn't buy one that I knew was malfunctioning because it's not economical
to replace the main circuit, but a good used -4 can be had for half the
price
of a used -4T. It's a risk vs. benefit type situation. You pay your bucks
and
take your chances. Also, some of the used OM-4s out there have the -4T
circuit already in them. I've bought two like that. If you want or need the
FP flash, you'll have to go ahead and spring for a genuine -4T.
