I agree with Tom that it's an interesting feature. It gives sellers the
ability to post a hybrid auction/classified ad rather that have to wait for
an auction to end to meet a reserve. It sticks in the craw of those of us
who like to snipe (me included), but it is a nice feature for sellers who
have a bottom-line price that they'll take.
