Having moved from a 33k modem to ISDN to ADSL, my recommendation would be to
go to ADSL or cable and skip ISDN if ADSL or cable are available or will be
available in the near future. ISDN requires a separate phone line and is
only roughly twice as fast as a 56k modem. ADSL does not require a separate
phone line and, like cable, is, in my experience, ten times faster than
ISDN. If you decide to go the ISDN route, may I recommend the US Robotics
Sportster ISDN terminal adapter. I never had a bit of trouble with mine.
