I had a similar experience with an eBay seller. Perfectly innocent - he's a
seller of general collectibles, not camera gear. When he decided to sell
one of his personal lenses he didn't notice or mention in the description
the presence of a tiny bit of oil on the diaphragm. It provided a good
opportunity to share information about how to evaluate camera gear. All was
resolved satisfactorily.

FWIW, I pointed this out to the seller. He had unintentionally
overlooked it...some sellers really do appreciate constructive
comments. Share your knowledge . . . and let us know the ones who bite
in return.
