Subject: [OM] T32 flash angled straight up.

The T32 flash can be flipped up to various degrees.
This is for bounce flash, right?
Right.
What will be the effect of having the flash pointing straight up towards
the ceiling ?
When the flash is popped, you get bounce lighting which uses the ceiling as
a large reflector.
Is that how I got extremely low contrast images ?
The contrast will be lowered, yes. How much lowered depends on how high the
ceiling is and what the ceiling's color is. Dark colors absorb light more
than reflect it. Pure black absorbs all light: pure white reflects all. A
painted white ceiling is NOT necessarily pure white. In fact, you would be
hard pressed to get pure white on your own.
