I'd be tempted to "live with" the scanner for a while until you are happy
that the scans you are getting are as good as possible from the unit. I
jumped straight in to scanning a lot of old family prints after first
getting my flatbed, the scans looked ok at the time, but I now know I could
have done a better job had I been more familiar with the hardware/software.
I still haven't got back to re-scanning those early scans.
