Whew! Sorry - missed the f. I think what confused me is the 'plastic'
description - I just acquired a 'made in japan' (5 million +) and it didn't
strike me as much lighter than an old version. Certainly not compared to
the consumer grade mid-range Canon EF zoom I once dismantled for fun! (4
times the size and weighed about the same as the Oly 50mm).
