I think the caveat about metering with the 16/3.5 full frame fisheye (if
there really is such a warning) is rooted more in practice than in theory.
The problem is that it is easy to get enough bright sky or even the sun
itself into the frame to severely skew the meter and possibly underexpose
your intended subject.
If you keep this in mind and adjust your technique appropriately (or use a
spot metering body) this shouldn't cause trouble.
