I have used the 90/2 as a portrait lens on a few occasions. It is superb.
It is very revealing of skin texture and blemishes so your subject might
not like the results
I have not compared it directly with the 85/2 or 100/2. I suspect it
would be a closer match for the results from a 100/2 than from a 85/2.
If you use a wide aperture you get a very smooth transition from what is
in focus to what is out of focus. This can give a strong 3D impression.
