Hal, if I'm remembering correctly (I sold my 35RC a couple years back) it
doesn't need batteries to function - among the handful of consumer grade
fixed lens RFs that didn't. I'd keep it and use it - at least until you
find a fully functional 35RC. Pick one fast film you're comfortable with,
like Tri-X or Fuji Superia X-tra 400 or 800, and guesstimate exposures.
