While in theory having the ss/fs info in the viewfinder would be helpful,
I've never felt a strong need for it. For handheld work, the slowest shutter
speed is determined by the focal length of the lens you're using, or if
you're using flash, then 1/60th is it. So, I usually wind up only adjusting
aperture, then changing to a faster shutter speed only if I'm getting up to f
/16 or so, which I can roughly tell from the position of the aperture ring.
But, if I'm shooting under mostly the same lighting conditions, only small
adjustments are usually required anyway. BTW, I found the ss/fs info in my
wife's N*K*N FM2 to be very distracting.....
