Not so according to Franz Pangerl. He says that the LED was
available on the OM2 to limit exposures to "15 minutes at the most".
The length may be a guess on his part, but the existence of the LED
must be fairly certain.
Chris This has been covered in the past a couple of times. One of the modifications on the new model OM2n was to add the time limiting led. The original OM2 did not have a limiter led and consequently allowed much longer auto exposure. It was for this reason that when presented with the choice of keeping the OM2 or the OM2n, I opted for the OM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ clintonr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:In use, however, an OM-2 or OM-2n _may_ keep the shutter open much longer than one or two minutes. But both models have a tiny LED peeking into one of the Silicon Blue Cells to assure that, even in "total" darkness, the shutter will eventually close. The P-circuit of the OM-2n> will also cut power after approximately three minutes, anyway. -- <|_:-)_|> Chris Barker imagopus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ... a nascent photo library. < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > |
